Look...a feather! LOL! There is a bird & nest in this drawing, too, though I doubt you can see it. Top left...think it got cut out on here. I totally forgot that I do have a few birdie things in here...LOL. This is a piece I've been working on for a long time, and, like everything else, can't seem to finish. It's very big, 18" x 24" and is called, "the Storyteller." I have a few others I hope to finish in 2013. What is everyone else working on or planning for next year?
Yup, I turned that in a couple weeks ago. I did end up darkening the eye lashes a little as well as a couple of other changes but it definately wasn't my best work. I think I rushed that one. I'll attach pictures of how the curly hair turned out and the as well as the final project. I saved everything until 2 days before it was due (procrastination) so I really had to rush it. Thanks for the tips! The african hair was kinda crazy, I just started making dark sqiggles everywhere and it didn't turn out to bad.Cochins- Not sure if I'm too late, but go darker on the eyelashes. Just because you cannot see it in the photo doesn't mean it's not there, so add the iris behind the top lashes, just a dark shadow, really. Go ahead with a darker lead, like a .05 rather than an .07 or anything darker than a number 2 if you're using wooden pencils. Put the iris in, darken up the lashes as well as the mouth, where the lips meet. As for the African-American hair, I have found that all hair in general goes better in layers. So shade in the hair area, do some "circles" for tight curls, then blend and shade it again. Get it very dark, then use a kneaded eraser to highlight where the light hits. Keep it soft. Great skin tones, BTW. Well done! Not sure if this helps at all, but looks good so far!
Thanks, because I'd really like those goose eggs, hahaha. but I don't think I can beat those gorgeous Pysanka eggs. Especially her last 2 entries and there are many others that I would consider better than mine.Cochins ya know you have my vote on the egg in that contest!!!
Quote: Cochins you do have all these drawing buds to help vote!!
