Ok, now... time to hear about the entertainment in store for each stop along the way! You all can come up here, and visit with me, then take me back on the return trip, with stops at every one's place, and I'll fly home when I get to Florida.

Lazy, you make it to my place in FL and we'll cook you a great meal. DH is an amazing cook and I bake breads, deserts, etc. Then we can go play mini-golf at the new place in town (it really is a kick to see the way they fixed it up). We'll stop at the local hardware store to check out their amazing animal department (finches, parakeets, every kind of fish, lizards, snakes, turtles and more). Then it's back to my place for a beautiful sunset of soft oranges and pinks with a golden touch all filtering through the Live Oaks and Spanish Moss. Of course, before any of that you have to see our animals and garden and greenhouse.

That's my place, what do you all have?

Edited to add, almost forgot...anyone that's up for it, gets a rowdy game of Scrabble!

I have a newly planted orchard with Norland and Maiden Blush apples, June berries, Elderberries, high bush cranberries, Hazelberts, plums, apricots. Also have raspberries, Blue berries. Not much in my town. We do have one blinking light. But, I'll take you kayaking. I have a little greenhouse (8 x 8 hoop... need to order a green house tarp for it for this winter.) When I do get to Florida, no trip is complete without having LOTS of fresh oranges and pecans. And, if I get there at the right time... ? April? I JUST have to go strawberry picking. That's the highlight of the entire trip for me. Oh... have to get to the ocean, too. Our ocean is so very much different than yours... even though the Atlantic is still the Atlantic... you'd swear you were in a different country!!!

Well, after I roust all of you out from Motel 5 1/2, I imagine we'll start the day with a hot breakfast. Um, that would be because my fridge is on the fritz and most everything in there already kinda warm so I have a head start. Then we'll go out and you can all show me how you do your chicken chores, demonstrating on my coop, run and chickens while I observe and carefully take notes. After you - um, we - get the chickens done, we'll run down the the new Splash Park in town and cool off a bit. If you feel the need for a shower, please bring soap - I only have one bathroom and a 5 gallon water heater. A relaxing mid-morning on the deck counting hummingbirds will precede a round of margaritas while we play, "What do you wanna do?" "I dunno, whadda you wanna do?" etc.

We can draw straws for the answer to that but no matter who wins and names a way to pass time, we'll go to the Wild Horse Range because it's what I wanna do and it's my house.

An invigorating stroll in the high altitude skin searing sun, among the cactus, rattlesnakes, stink bugs and sagebrush should work up a hearty appetite as we dodge the horses who really didn't want us there in the first place. Then we'll come back here, collapse on the deck, and see what the refrigerator cooked us for lunch. A round of Alka Seltzer will follow, complete with little umbrellas in each glass. We'll sit on the deck and visit and chat while we feed Wyoming's state bird, the mosquito. Now, because our state is famous for fishing, hunting, and tourism, we prefer not to say the "m" word. We simply refer to them as teeth with wings in an effort not to scare off our revenue -er - guests.

I'm sure around mid afternoon daughter Tam will bring over Evan and son Kenny and Jenny will bring over Katiebug and Kendra to say "hello". I would very much appreciate it if you left them here with us when you go. We'll hit the hot tub after the kids leave and there will most likely be a margarita or two in the offing while we soak away the aches of the day....if one of you can make them. Then we'll get out the old cast iron skillet, fry us up a mess of chislic, hit it with too much salt, and wash it down with cold beers. Cribbage or Phase 10 - we'll spend the rest of the evening eating chislic, belching, drinking cold beer, belching, playing games, belching, and when we don't have room in our bellies for one more bite or sip, and our ribs hurt from laughing, we'll get to bed and get rested up for the next day's trip to Yellowstone. How does that sound?

Sheesh.....who's going to follow Blooie? You should do us a favor and go last, hon, you're too intimidating to post after

Well, LG, I've got the Pacific ocean just 70 miles away

. Redwood trees right there on the coast.

Or we could head inland and hit Crater Lake, always pretty. The upper Rogue River is nice to see as long as there's not a drought.

No wild horses here, just fat old ladies....

who live for belly scratches. Oh, and since it's fall, ya'all can inhale deep and see if you get a cheap high off the neighbor's crop that's maturing

. Yep, that's a top secret Mary-Chew-Wanna fence behind my sweet Daffy. Oh, and that's the small scale neighbor....

Oh, oh! come on the first Saturday of the month and we can all hit the livestock auction together!
you know, that actually sounds like fun...think of the things we could bid on irresponsibly

That's it, I'm tapped...

If just reading this stuff makes me grin, can only imagine how much fun it would be to really do!

I love all the ideas you guys talk about...Atlantic Ocean, kayaking (never been), chislic, Yellowstone, Pacific Ocean (never seen it), livestock auction...everything. And the best part of all would be the chance to talk and laugh together!

Wow, this trip is really shaping up

Macon and Georgia have so many areas of interest, but I know we'll be tired by the time everyone arrives here, so will keep the tour to places within a few minutes drive.

Upon arrival will have lunch ready : egg salad and pimento cheese sandwiches, cheese straws, pound cake and tea.

After lunch, will give you the guided tour to meet my hens and see my vegetable garden, rose garden and blueberry patch.
For the rest of the afternoon we'll rest, socialize and sip Mint Juleps while DH prepares supper.

Supper: squash casserole, baked sweet potatoes, pink-eyed peas and butter beans, cornbread , home canned bread and butter pickles, and tea. For dessert I made an Elberta Peach Cobbler and have Cool Whip ready… but, NFC will have to make her some real whip cream

.

Then for the inside house tour and your selection of accommodations. I have no full sized couches and no guest beds, but plenty of quilts to "make shift mattresses". Unless y'all want to share wash rags and towels, you'll need to bring them with you. ** we do have indoor plumbing and city water**

Next morning we'll head out for the tour. First we'll travel down the Cherry Blossom Trail to view the thousands of Cherry Trees here, hope they are in bloom. Then down to Central City Park for the Cherry Blossom Festival and Pink Pancake breakfast. And while we're at the park, y'all will have to see Luther Williams Ballpark. It is the second oldest remaining minor league stadium in the country. Built in 1929, it hosted a number of minor league teams. And has been location for a number of films - the most recent were "42" and "Trouble With The Curve".

Then onto visit the historic Hay House and Cannoball House. And for those Rock & Roll fans, the Allman Brothers Band Museum at the Big House.

By now we'll be hungry again, it's only a short drive to Juliette, home of "The Whistle Stop Cafe" for fried green tomatoes and southern style cooking.

The rest of the afternoon we can relax at home. I had so wanted DH to cook again, but he snuck out and bought FreshAir Barbecue Party Packs - pit cooked pulled pork barbecue, buns, dill pickles, coleslaw and brunswick stew. The sauce is a tart vinegar type, so if you prefer sweet BBQ sauces will have DH get some BBQ from Finchers.

After another night of restful floor sleeping, y'all will surely be ready to move the caravan elsewhere. To start the day you can have your choice of sausage & egg casserole or homemade cinnamon buns…or both.

But be sure to grab a bag of fresh boiled peanuts to snack on during the trip to the next abode.

I think that all participants will need to buy a pair of running shoes and go on a daily run with me. This trip sounds fattening.
