BYC members in Massachusetts?

Hi,
I'm so sorry for your recent loss.
I wish I could take them, but I have 19 myself and am currently treating for Coccidiosis.
I do have some friends in western MA that my take them if you can't find anyone.
I’m in Western MA, I recently had to get rid of mine due to neighbors complaints, but I know some people around here who can take them if you’re willing to travel to Western MA.

My wife Sarah was a member of this group. She passed away recently and I can't maintain the chickens anymore. We are in Newton, Massachusetts.

So it occured to me to reach out to this group to find someone to give them to. I hope someone can take them.

9 chickens:

1 Silky bantam rooster
1 Silky bantam cross rooster
2 silky bantam hens
2 silky bantam cross hens
2 Wyandotte hens
1 Beautiful iridescent brown hen

We are about 5 miles west of Boston. Can anyone give them a new home?
I am so sorry for your loss. That must be very hard. :hugs

I believe I could take the 2 Wyandottes and the beautiful brown hen, if nobody else has chipped in yet. I have a town limit, so I can't take them all.

I live south of Boston and could drive to pick them up.

I have 3 hens right now, all standard size, and a large run with 2 coops. Personal message me if that works for you.

Besides posting here, you might also post in the Animals in Need of Free Rehoming, and try also on Craigslist for Boston in both the free and Farm groups. And there is a Facebook MA Backyard Chicken Owners, where you could post. I have not used or joined the Facebook group, so I don't know the folks there. It's separate from this group.

Best wishes finding good homes. The other alternative is an animal shelter. Angell Memorial has Nevins farm where chickens could go to wait for adoption.

Please don’t post on Craigs List. Small animals listed there often end up as bait animals.

This is not definite but I am possibly looking to rehome a young cockerel in a few weeks. Currently 6 week old silkie x cinnamon queen mixes. I’m on Martha’s Vineyard but people in Falmouth is fine too. Not sure if there are any members from this area. It would probably be one of these guys:

Here he is, half silkie so fancy feathered feet, extra toes and a feather crest.

Two lovely buff geese looking for a new home, located western mass, near ct. Both female, one is 2020 hatching and one is 2021 hatching. Names are Nancy, and floof, but they respond to 'goose' or any words really. Floof is a American tuft buff, and Nancy is standard American buff. They originally come from Metzer farms.
