I saw that.... I meant around where. You don't have to give the town if you don't want to. But I may have heard of someone that needed a home for 1 hen and just wondered if you might be close

I have an assortment of 2 year old hens (x6, still laying) in a variety of breeds (australorps, barred rock, Easter eggers). And a few young Easter egger roosters (x3, little over a year).

All free to a good home or hot stew pot. Ideally you take them all.

Downsizing flock to focus on my brahmas.

Again, not knowing where you are, but you really should get 1 hen to be a buddy with yours they need to have a companion (dogs don't count)

Just read your story ... what a lovely tale about little Charlene! Sounds like you are doing everything right and she is very happy. I've also had lots of luck re-homing a beloved rooster on the FB page for Homesteaders of New England -- so if/when you decide to pick up another chicken, that is an excellent option. A bit far from western Ma, but Nevins Farm MSPCA in Methuen has some chickens available on petfinder.com
That's where I got my 2 pekin ducks.

Anyone know where I might get 2-3 Rhode Island Reds for spring?
Tractor Supply said they get “reds” but don’t know the breeds as they are mixed...‍???

too bad you not near Dracut... its free and would be fine for 2 hens for a little time... with a bigger outer pen.,

btw, don't buy these cheap coops, not worth it.
plenty of people giving away RIR on HONE FB.
