Make sure you leave space for ventilation in the run. I used clear, heavy duty shower curtains last year and they worked really well and I can use them again this winter. I ran clothesline rope through the grommets and they were very easy to hang.
Clothesline rope is a great idea. I was planning on using shower curtains on my run and that will definitely make it so they can be used more than once!

If I end up getting plastic sheets, I was thinking of attaching the bottom side to a piece of PVC pipe or other pole, so that the sheet can be rolled up onto it when done for easier storage. Instead of having to fold or crinkle up a large area of unruly sheet. That way, once it's installed on the run, I can also roll it up from the bottom on nice days to uncover the run a little and let some more air and sunshine in. And when it's time to cover the run again the following winter, I just attach the sheet to the top, and unroll it down with the pole. I might do that even if I get curtains, just because it's easier to install, take down and store that way.

A suggestion: the shower curtains were flapping in the breeze so I ran a line of rope attached to bungee cords around the middle. The bungee cords adjusted to keep the rope stable. I hope that made sense.

I'm considering re-homing two hens. I have two rather small RIR hens that are about 16 months old. I've separated them from the main flock. One has some rooster damage and the other apparently has committed some sort of chicken infraction that the rooster and several of the hens want to kill her. They are both still laying right now and their feathers will brighten and fill out after they go through their first molt, but I'm really not keen on keeping them separate forever. I think it's best to find them a new home. Any suggestions?

Neighbors! I need help. I'm building my first chicken coop and want to give it a metal roof. I've been looking for the rib steel roofing panels that seem to be in every youtube video, and can't find any in the entire damn state! Technically they're listed on the Home Depot and Lowe's websites, but they're out of stock at both chains, and nobody knows if and when they'll restock. I spoke with reps from both stores and they said none of their locations in the entire state have any, and they can't ship from out of state. Then, I started looking online, found some small companies... some never got back to me, one did (Best Buy Metals) and they have all kinds of steel panels, but their shipping rate is a flat and mind-blowing $185 which is just too much for me. And their closest location is in PA so I can't go pick it up.

So my question is... Has anybody in MA been able to find rib steel roofing panels, and if yes, where? (that's not the more common corrugated "wavy" panels, but the ones with the ribs more spaced out, that come in different colors, and are actually cheaper than the wavy ones).
