BYC Recognition Awards - Educator, Friend, Spirit, & Greeter

So, I had an idea this morning that I thought I would share … first up, in my defence, it was before 5:00AM and more importantly before coffee so I can be forgiven if it is a bad one. It came to me while I was feeding the girls and thought I saw KiKi limping, she wasn’t limping, she was just navigating the uneven terrain; yeah yeah, I know, paranoid, but again, it was early

Anyways, the idea was for a new award for those people’s names we see over and over again in the ‘Emergencies, Diseases, Injuries and Cures’ Forum and who have undoubtedly saved the lives of many fowl.

Yes, we have the BYC Educator Award but this could be for non health related things like incubating, integration, genetics or hatching etc. Whereas the award I propose could be for health and emergencies.

I was thinking not necessarily given via peer nominations but, similar to the Educator Award, may be by BYC Staff and of course, after extensive vetting.

I think it would be good for new users [and others] to be able to recognise those who specialise in emergencies and diseases.

They could be BYC Triage or BYC Medic or Nurse or whatever; too early to come up with a good name also

Anyways, as I said, just a thought … time for coffee

Totally agree, this is an awesome idea. 2 of our forum members already popped in my head while reading your post! Both have given me life saving proven cures for sick birds. This type of help absolutely needs to be recognized.
