Thank you! Icee is a 2year old "Lethal White" Cattle Dog mix. That one eye you see is the best one she has, the other is totally misformed. Bright sunlight bothers her, I have to find where I put Spooks Doggles. Yes Doggie Goggles. My late dog, Spook, would wear them when we were kayaking to cut glare. We rescued Icee a week ago today from a really bad situation. She is starting to come out of her shell. She let DH take her out to potty tonight which was a big thing, she usually stays an arms length away. She is also letting other dogs beside Katie come near her. She is used to being attacked by other dogs.

We adopted Katie a now 1 year old Cattle Dog from a rescue in Ark. They pulled her from a shelter 1 day before she was to be destroyed. Katie is also Deaf. She knows about 15 hand signals so far and is being trained to be my next Service Dog!

The same gene that gave Katie all those pretty colors is the same gene that made both of them deaf, and Icee nearly totally blind.

It's been kind of quiet on here lately. Guess winter is giving everyone the blaa's. I just finished a quilted sweatshirt class and thought I'd share a picture with you. It was a fun class.

Just wandering around in the forums and came across this one. Love all the quilts and ideas. Does anyone have any "forever" quilts. You know, the ones that you pick up and set down for years. I have two. A crazy quilt that I started in 1996 that has turned into something of a sampler/diary. The other is a hand stitched drunkards path with no two prints alike.

I started a quilt back in the 80's as a means to keep my sanity while being snowed in with four children and in the middle of a divorce. I only worked on it when I was depressed and in the beginning worked on it constantly. As time passed and life got a little better I worked on it less. I moved to CA from NC and started over with two of my children and I've been here ever since. every once in a while I'd take the quilt out (a grandmothers flower garden made from all the scraps from sewing for my children) and work on it until one time my daughter in NC asked what happened to the quilt. All I had left was one circle that fir in my quilting frame and about 6 in. all the way around. She asked if I would leave it to her when I passed since she was with me in the beginning of it. Two years ago her daughter was getting married and I was going back for my granddaughter's wedding. I had finished it and gave it to my daughter then in case something happened and she didn't get it.

I have two right now that need to be quilted and hope to start on them soon since they seem to be pushed back farther on the shelf. I don't want them to take almost 30 years to finish.

Thank you Verthandi!! The squares and extra fabric got here today just in time for a makeup club meeting tomorrow. They are just beautiful, everyone in the office was oohhhing and ahhhing over them!

Since my mom mentioned the quilt she gave me I thought I would share it with everyone. We use it as an extra blanket on our bed in the winter. I am blessed to have the quilt.

I don't know if I should really post this here. But I'm looking for someone who would be willing to make me a comforter and matching pillow cases. T.T I run out of ideas of where I could find someone. I wish I could do it myself. I know a little about sewing but don't have a sewing machine or anything of that sort. v.v If anyone's interested please PM me. If Ive bothered anyone in this thread by posting this here I'm sorry ahead of time. Love you guys yall rock!

Ahhh, good timing then. I may be slow, but I get there. How are they doing with their quilts?

They are doing pretty good, we are behind due to missing club days when we were out for weather, my being out sick, and then running out of squares for a little while. Everyone is partly done, the only one with a pretty much finished top made a little baby quilt that is just darling. They loved the patterns of fabric you sent, we don't have a big selection around here unless I can get down to Joannes in El Paso for a sale. We just went out on a 2 week break, I'll have pics fairly soon after we go back.
