BYC should get an app!

I have google play on my tablet, and there is no backyard chickens app. Maybe there is one on itunes? Regardless, there is definitely a need for a mobile app.

The app has been available for years. I've had it on my phone for a long time

So long I actually can't remember where I got it. Try the home page of BYC for a download link, or do a search on the app store.

There is no app for Android, but Apple has had one for a while, I've heard. Honestly I don't mind using the mobile site, but it does seem a little unfair to us Droid users.

I do have an Apple device but to be honest, I don't care to use it for apps much anyway. I've looked at the BYC app in a pinch but find the little screen makes browsing difficult and responding to a post laborious, so 99% of the time I'd rather wait until I'm on a computer with a regular screen and proper keyboard anyway. So I guess I'm not much help....

That's a good point. Not many apps are as good as a desktop site.

Does it let you use gestures to zoom? I'm curious about the app.

I cheated with my iPad and iPhone. I didn't download the app, but I can still use BYC pretty easily....I just googled BYC, and when it came up hit the little square page looking thingy with the arrow that's at the bottom of the screen. When it asked me what I wanted to do I just hit, "Add to Home Screen." Yup, there it is, every time I want it, and on the iPad it works pretty similarly to the web page - might look funny in the response box when you quote someone but once you hit "submit" it looks just like it should.

Sorry...I haven't played with it enough to know and I'm not familiar with gestures - maybe that is an Android thing? On my iPhone I can zoom anything by expanding it with two fingers, and as far as I know the BYC app is no exception, but I rarely use that feature on anything as then it is hard to scroll around the screen, so the only things I've ever zoomed is a picture when I was looking for something in particular.

Yeah, two finger zoom is what I meant. I find that it's a great feature, once you get used to it. Thanks for the info.
