BYC Spinning Fiber

It's soft. It falls into the "fine" category. Depending on the individual sheep it could be short or long, crimpy or straight. It's a primitive breed. And that's about all I know so far. lol Maybe someone else can bring more experience to the table for us.

I bit the bullet and while my MIL was visiting for Easter we went on a shopping expedition to a GREAT yarn store- Webs. I bought a spindle and roving to try. I t hink the key will be practice practice practice. Like anything. But, I love it:D

Edited because I couldn't get the picture to work. (the Lopi in the picture was bought by my BIL because he wants me to make him an Irish knit sweater- yea! free yarn!)

I wanted to show everyone my new angora rabbits. The pictures aren't the best. They are in temp. cages, while the hutches are getting the finishing touches. I am going to get new ones soon. I have never had angora rabbits before. I just couldn't resist them. They are all does and two are bred for May babies. Let me know what you think. I have never spun angora before. Do I have to wash it first? I need all the advise I can get. Thanks

This is what I was told they were. Please let me know if I was told wrong.

Whatever you do, DO NOT WASH ANGORA RABBIT PRIOR TO SPINNING It will felt and you will have nothing but matted fur balls, I learned the hard way. I have seen a lot pf people spin straight from the bunny (literally sit the rabbit on their lap, and pluck while they spin)
