BYC Spinning Fiber

Well, they aren't the most lovely, but here they are.
My first & second "hanks". I don't think they qualify as a skein.
I am going to spin a lavender as well & maybe ply them, or make a jar cozy, or wash cloth. The blue one is my second hank. It is a little more even than the multi-colored one.

And, the last photo, is my new friend Herbert, who will soon be contributing fiber to the cause.

Cute!!! the yarn and the bunny!

Just finished plying my last yarn ... the largest amount I've ever spun and plyed at a time. Over 500 yards of 2-ply. I have to remember to get a pic and post.

Thanks MullersLane & buffbeauty. From what I have seen on this thread, you all are VERY talented. I'm hoping to someday be able to do 500 YARDS! Holy Cow!

Here it is ....

Plus, I spent the day trying to re-arrange my 3 bedrooms upstairs into a fiber haven (who says 'empty-nesting' is a bad thing?)

There is still some boxes to sort through and furniture to change rooms, but at least there is progress. The yellow loom room (former fiber room) has been a place that has been used to not only store my fiber, but everything else that we couldn't find a place for it.

Here is how it looked 5 years ago after oldest son moved out & I made it into my fiber room on the Left and what that same corner of the room looks like now for the loom room on the Right:

(The pics on the right were taken at night, the ones on the left taken in the afternoon, thus the color differences!)

Notice the big box in the corner of the first pic on the left and in a different corner in the 2nd pic on the right?? Yup, same box!! It's my Harrisville-Design T6 loom. Still not set up. That will change!

Where the bed is in my loom room now will be where the T6 loom will be set up. The bed will go into the guest bedroom and the futon from the guest room will go into the loom room making space for the T6.

And yes, there is overflow fiber 'stuff' in the guest room which is also used as storage for (and sometimes Paul)'s Civil War accouterments hidden in the closet, trunks & dresser.

And now, the Fiber Room! As you walk into the room, there is a scavenged end of a bunk-bed with shelves and drawers that is used for keeping 'stuff' in order.

Please note the felted sheep on the door!

Looking to the immediate left as you enter the room and a full on shot of that wall. In the corner is a table holding crates of fiber that don't fit in the closet and 'stuff' that doesn't have a home yet. Bookshelf next to that, that still needs to be organized.

Corner where I will store/display hand painted rovings. The dresser holds misc finished objects. The wonderful dressmakers form.

Fiber prep area. Under the table are bags of washed fleeces ready to card. On the table, my picker. My drum carder should be sitting at the front of the table, but ForeRunner is borrowing it at the moment. My closet of rovings. I've asked Paul to re-position the pole so I can get two rows of hanging shelves in there.

Most of my spinning, knitting and crocheting goes on in the living room. This is MY CORNER:

Notice bookshelves in the background?? Yup, another project waiting for me ...

I'm hoping the majority of the books in my corner shelves can go upstairs which will leave me plenty of room to put all those fiber things on the floor up ... I can only dream!! What you don't see is that the end table is surrounded by fiber "stuff" that I've used recently.
