BYC Spinning Fiber

This is spun on a Kromski Sonata (with a WooLee Winder). I'll ply it using my Ashford Traveller with Jumbo flyer/bobbin.

Thanks so much for the compliment!

I don't know if alpaca is hypoallergenic or not ... I don't know much about alpaca except I have more than I'll ever want to spin! dang fiber addiction!

Suffolk spins nicely woolen and really blooms when you set the twist, so spin it a bit thinner than what you want to final yarn to be.

Shetland/icelandic sounds wonderful!!! I've spun both and really love both. A cross between the two would be magnificent!!!

Im still wanting a spinning wheel if anyone has one just sitting around.

This is great. I've been fiber obsessed for 3 years and just found the world of chickens a couple weeks ago (yeah, totally hooked) and there are others out there like me! Yes!

I spin on Minerva, my Majacraft Suzie Pro wheel, and sometimes on my various spindles. I'm currently in love with hand processing Cormo fleeces. There's lot's of Romney, Romledale, Cormo, Alpaca and Mystery fleeces in my fiber stash. I also have plenty of commercial combed top in my stash including Merino, Corriedale, Merino/Silk, Bamboo, Finn and Shetland. Most of that is for dyeing and selling in my Etsy shop . Usually I try to spin for a project, instead of just spin and see what happens but I am trying to just have more fun with color.

Has anyone spun any art yarn using their chicken's feathers as accents?
