BYC Spinning Fiber

Sorry about the bad link!

Itsy, your yarn is so beautiful! What are you going to make with it?

This is my dad's painting. The sheep are Icelandic sheep we met on a fiber farms tour.

That painting looks absolutely amazing - it looks so real to life almost like a photograph and I like the touch of the wool frame - very unique.

Wow! It's beautiful! What a creative frame, as well. VERY NICE JOB to your Dad!

Thank you on the yarn compliments :) As much as I'd love to work with them, I have more yarn than I know what to do with. I've got them up for sale and have already sold the lighter purple skeins. :D

I know what you mean about keeping up with the yarn - someone gave me 11 oz of alpaca, I spun it in two days but it took WEEKS to knit it up! If only knitting went as fast as spinning.

I'll tell my dad his painting gets a

from spinners around the globe :)

Hey everyone, another BYC'er suggested I check here to see if anyone has and extra bits or scraps from spinning or even yarn bits? I am needing some so I can make some nesting kits for the wild bird population around here. If anyone has any they can send please PM me and let me know! Thank you =)

Wow!!!!! That's one Dad with a massive talent. What a beautiful painting. I bet you got some wonderful murals done by him in the house when you were growing up - at least I hope you did.

CaroleM, thank you :) My dad is a professional artist, and growing up we mostly had the ones that didn't sell! This isn't fiber, but I just have to share this painting he did - hope it's okay to be off topic just once! I think it's so fun and hope he does many more chicken pieces.

@Bleenie, I've been thinking about your post. I'll go through my yarn when I have a chance.

Woo hoo, I'm processing my first fleece! I just wish I could remember what kind of fleece it is :) I'll post pictures when it's dry. Now I want more fleece :)

Awesome, can't wait to hear more about the process! I just was given many, many bags of raw alpaca fiber that I can't wait to dive into. I've been researching how to go about processing it. I'm going to give drum carders a shot after washing it. Just to find the time ... :)
