I think mine are all 13" square Chuck. I just use that plastic zimmerman square as a guide, I figure it's better to err on the bigger side than the smaller and I am still not very good at the 1/4" seam anyway, mine are much bigger so until I get that down as a better skill mine will be bigger!

I always have that happen with the crochet square swaps too Amy. People sign up and then drop out without saying a word. Sorry that happened here.

I don't do 1/4" seams, I use 1/2" seams for the actual block, then 1/4" seams when joining the blocks together, or to the borders. That way I have wiggle room. Not to mention, my machine has beautiful guidelines for 1/2" seams, but none for 1/4"!

You can usually get a generic 1/4 in seam foot that will fit most machines. They are much easier to follow. I got mine at Hancocks fabrics.
On the box it tells which machines it will fit.

Anyway that might make it alot easier to accomplish youe 1/4 inch seams.

Using a larger seam can sometimes distort the design of your block, even if it can be trimmed down.

I haven't had trouble once, but then again I haven't used any designs that have 6+ pieces meeting at one spot in the middle, then I might run into some trouble.

Last 2 packages just arrived this afternoon.

I plan to send off all packages bright and early Monday morning. I would do so tomorrow, but we have plans since this is Easter weekend.

This has been fun!

I stand corrected!

I just checked the P.O.'s holiday schedule and Monday is not one of them! That's great news for me as I'm waiting on several things that are supposed to be coming in the mail.
