BYC writers unite!

I used to read a lot when I was younger and would come up with little stories, my English teacher was always very pleased with my general knowledge of the language. But unfortunately I started slipping up when I started high school, I really didn't have a good time there and the work I had to show made that painfully obvious. I left school and went into home education, and since then I have been reading more but I do notice my spelling is behind, just my writing in general. I'm kind of ashamed to admit this but I still don't really know what nouns, adjectives, pro-nouns, etc.. are. And my handwriting is terrible. I still love coming up with little stories in my head but never put them down on paper. I would like to get better, my heads just been so full of other things the last few years.

To be honest, grammar stuff deterred me from writing for years! What mainly started my writing was our local library's young author contst which I won twice (a 1st and a 3rd and got the 1st plac book bound and put in the library). I was in 2nd grade and 6th grade, I believe.
Nouns, verbs, and pronouns aren't too hard, but i struggle with adjectives, adverbs, and all the rest :p

Nice! I'm writing a series... Not sure how many books will be in it yet.

What genre?

I guess it would be considered Historical Fiction, but I'mnot completely sure on that.

Yes. It is. I'm not proud of it though.... it was before I understood even the most basic grammar stuff and my drawings... to say the least.... suck.

Some of us still don't have an understanding of basic grammar.
Well, I just meant that a period goes at the end of a sentence and that the first letter in the word at the beginning of the sentence should be capitalized. That's what I meant by "basic grammar"
