If you feel any tingling in your tongue or start to have swelling in your mouth OR tongue, you need to go to the Emergency Room at the nearest hospital.
I had never been allergic to anything in my life and then on January 1, 2008, I began getting hives in different places.
Since then, I have found out that I am extremely allergic to PEANUTS, BANANAS, AVOCADOS, LATEX, BEANS, PEAS and a few other wonderful things.
I had used Latex gloves for 25 years previous to that. I loved Banana Cream Pie, I loved Guacamole. I LOVED peanuts, I loved chili. I loved peas, fresh or cooked. Can't do any of it anymore. Made the mistake once of having a bite of banana cream pie. Had I not had an inhaler and benedryl ready to chew up, I might have been on the other side.
I've been diagnosed with "Auto-immune Hives" There is no cure. There is no treatment. I simply find I'm OK if I only eat those things that I know don't cause problems... and keep myself from stress. Simple stress will also cause it. It is in the same family of diseases as arthritis, lupus, Reynauds Syndrome and fibromyalgia.
The other day I had a raspberry filled dark chocolate. Two hours later my upper lip looked grotesque.
Monitor it closely, write down everything that you put in your mouth, on your body etc... dish soap, laundry soap, cologne etc...
