I prefer to incubate vertical but you have to pack them in the brinsea trays to keep them upright…….I couldn’t handle a full incubator of faker duckiesI’m not sure. I’ve incubated vertical for a very long time. So it’s just natural to follow up with lockdown that way also.
At first glance, I read this as 1000 F. Oy.Setting my eggs in my NR360!

I have hatched hundreds/thousands of eggs in this and have decided over time that it's best for me personally not to add water for humidity until the 17th to 18th day until hatch day. I candle whenever I feel like it (never after day 18 though). I also set the temp to 100°F versus 99.5°F, it's just a preference.
Here they are in the incubator (notice how they are already on a shelf liner, it is used for grip when the chicks hatch and prevents splayed leg)

Fantastic!OK final tally for October eggs is 44, though 2 are likely infertile. All are Silkies and Silkie crosses. First set are due to hatch this Saturday. The remaining 42 are progressing nicely in different stages of development. I do have one egg with a completely detached air cell, though it is doing well here on DAY 6 and I plan to hatch this one upright and stop turning it at day 14.
Good luck to all you fellow hatchers out there!
Halloween will be here before we know it!View attachment 2861321

Thank you sooooo much for linking that!!!!You will probably need to assist.
I've only had 3 or 4 call ducklings that hatched out on their own out of a couple hundred.
I thought "I'll let this batch hatch on their own" and let a whole batch of 18 eggs that were internally pipped on their own. They all died and didn't even attempt to externally pip.
It's up to you, it's too big a gamble for me. My duck hens however get a majority of the eggs to hatch so I know they can... but some say the duck hens help them too.
