BYC's 2023 Spooktacular Halloween Hatch-Along!
Pumpkin Carving Contest
Ends on November 2nd, 2023
It's not officially Halloween until you have a collection of carved pumpkins, arranged ever so perfectly on your front porch. Pumpkin carving is a fun family activity to get into the Halloween spirit and a great way to express your creativity, regardless of your age. We'd love to see your artistic creations entered for a chance to win a prize. Whether you're a master carver or a beginner, come around and show us your pumpkin carving abilities, and you could WIN an AWESOME prize!
This year, there will be two categories, one for poultry-themed carvings and one for traditional carvings, and there will be prizes for both.
Prizes
BYC Store Gift Certificates are available to winners in the United States. If the winners are outside the United States, they will be awarded the PFM instead.
Place Prize First $50 BYC Store Gift Certificate or a 1-year PFM ($60 value) for yourself or a friend. Second $30 BYC Store Gift Certificate or a 6-month PFM ($35 value) for yourself or a friend. Third $15 BYC Store Gift Certificate or a 3-month PFM ($20 value) for yourself or a friend. Fourth 1-month PFM
It's easy to enter, just take pictures of your carved & lit pumpkin(s) in a dark or semi-dark area and post them in this thread.
To increase your chances of winning, please read the rules before entering.

Rules:
Photography tips from fellow BYC members:
- An entry is one picture of a carved pumpkin or set of pumpkins (at least one must be carved) in a dark or semi-dark area with the carved pumpkin(s) lit from inside.
- PUMPKINS MUST BE CARVED by you or your child. Surface carving is allowed.
- Pumpkin carvings can be original or carved from commercially available stencils, etc.
- Painting and attached decorations are allowed, but the pumpkin must be carved, too. Remember, this is a carving contest.
- Pumpkins must be real.
- Four entries per member. One photo per post, please.
- Images that have been resized might be disqualified if they are too small to judge.
- No screenshots, watermarks, date stamps, text, etc., on the photo. No collages.
- The photo needs to have been taken by you.
- You cannot use a photo that won an award in another BYC-sponsored contest.
- High-quality images are recommended. Basic editing, such as cropping and other subtle changes, are allowed.
- ALL photos MUST be uploaded to BYC and not hosted on other image sites, personal websites, etc.
- Prizes are limited to one per person per contest.
- All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
- Entries will be accepted through November 2nd, 2023, at 11:59 PM Pacific Time.
