BYC's 2025 Spooktacular Halloween Hatch-Along

Double checking this chart: https://thehomesteadingrd.com/candling-chicken-eggs-day-by-day/ . . . the eggs I just candled seem to be at day 4-5 of development.

That actually makes sense since I set them a day later than the rest and had to keep opening the other incubator to reposition them, probably caused them to get a bit delayed.

How long does your incubator take to heat up after opening? I think the opening won't affect the eggs much because broody hens naturally get off the nest for an hour a day, and their chicks still hatch in 21 days.

I don't really know if that's the issue, but they seem a bit behind according to the chart.

They may also be developing a little slower than I'm use to seeing since I'm doing a dry hatch.
If that chart only shows one egg, then that chart might be wrong and that egg might have just developed much faster. Also to make it look good they might only show the best looking (aka most veins ) side of the egg.
