Hayden,, I know this is a funny thread, But I do like to add things serious natured here as well.
I have known for quite some time that you are a nurse. If you have to work on the 4th, to you.
First you have to be apart from your family, as they are celebrating. I do include the celebrating with GREAT FOOD as well.

Then dealing with the injured peeps coming into clinic/hospital for repairs. The children must be the most difficult to accept.
I know you are prepared for everything in hospital emergency services,
But FIREWORKS injuries are so unnecessary, and avoidable. Just go to your local town where they offer fireworks shows.
Did I also mention the HIGH COST , for fireworks.

Thanks, I am between contracts at the moment and will probably spend most of the day playing on this computer. There are plenty of people who work to keep things going 24/7/365.
I'm not sure how to address the second part. We all have different tolerances and assessments for risk vs safety. I have always felt like life shouldn't be a spectator sport. As Dylan said "You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you." There is lots of behaviors I consider too risky and they sometimes land people in the hospital also. Not what I would choose for myself. Not my place to choose for someone else.
