A lot of German people say no to ketchup on any sausage. Same reason as Chicago dogs, ketchup hides any off taste.
My grandmas, Pennsylvania Dutch and Austrian, had fits because I wanted to put ketchup on everything

I myself do like ketchup,,, but when I eat items like French fries,, I like Sweet Bay Rays BBQ sauce. The sauce is the BOSS

Never heard of those. After looking up it was invented Long after my relatives that left Germany and Austria had passed away.
