My mom used to call me by the wrong name
My mom solved that problem by just saying all of our names: "Hey Sue-Sally-Bob!"My mom used to call me by the wrong name
That's what my Dad did when he was mad. I was the youngest so I got all the names. His frustration over the names did not make him any happier by the time he got to the right name.My mom solved that problem by just saying all of our names: "Hey Sue-Sally-Bob!"

Nylon stocking! Never heard of using it like that. Might have to try that. Sleeping is the worst for hair.Do you mean hair ties? Would he wear pastel ones? Get you some in girly colors, maybe he'll leave those alone!
I always kept my hair in a long pony down my back with several hair ties down its length. But protecting it at night is the key, or at least it was for me. I'd put it in a knee-high nylon,* and that kept it from getting broken at night. Once I started doing that it grew so much faster!
*Put the nylon on one arm. Tie hair in a pony with just one hair tie at the top. Grasp pony near head with the hand eearing the nylon. With the other hand, pull the nylon down over the pony to completely encase it, then close top of nylon with another hair tie. Hair will probably fold, that's okay.
re: hair ties. If you're going to use regular ties, be sure they are fabric-wrapped, don't just use rubber bsnds. But to really avoid damaging hair, I recommend using hair ties with two marble-sized balls on them. These go AROUND your hair, instead of you having to drag your hair through them like normal hair ties, so are far less damaging to your hair. If walmart doesn't have them check your local Sally's or other beauty supply store.
I didnt know those were a thing. I have used chopsticks but they dont like to stay in my hair.I don't know if you've ever tried them, but I've found hair sticks work really well for me. I have a ton of really fine hair, so keeping it up without breaking is a challenge. Hair clips never worked as they just slide right out the moment I start moving and with hair ties I would have to have so tight I was risking breaking them to keep my hair up.
I finally switched to using hair sticks this summer, and I think I'll be sticking with them. Once you get the motions down, they hold your hair up really well. I had no issues with it falling out while working at a greenhouse or hiking. An added benefit is that any stick shaped object will work in a pinch.
