That's something I would do
I mean, would somebody leave their beautiful purebred dog unattended like that if they thought the dog would just get up and go with any stranger that called it?
Around here it's not legal to let a dog run loose anymore. So people assume they are lost. Which most are because they haven't been trained to stay home. Every day people are searching for lost dogs. Or reporting found dogs.
My Annie was loose, she has been trained to stay home. I came around the corner to find the UPS driver trying to get her collar. I believe he was trying to look at her tags. She is a rescue and very head shy. I was surprised she was letting him. I figured if she thought he was ok he meant no harm.
I just said that Annie was a good girl.
I usually put her in when deliveries are due, but the UPS driver was a half hour before scheduled time window.

I hate leash laws 🤣 😭 I know a lot of people can’t control their dogs and need them, but I appreciate my dogs freedom too much. He is never on leash, even on walks. I carry pepper spray and if some dog runs up to me… Some dogs are obviously friendly so I just ignore those and some are too little for me to feel like it is a threat to my 90lbs dog, but I’m more of a shoot first and ask questions later. It isn’t worth the risk for me for my dog to become dog aggressive for the rest of his live or vet bills. If anyone has a problem with that they should control their dogs.
