It's a handmade hood to keep the babies' ears from freezing. Frostbite is a very real thing with babies born in these cold temps.

Years ago I had a raccoon come in, came up the stairs and was eating the cats food.... right behind me. I was on the computer and heard nails on the floor. I turned to look and it ran down the stairs, out the cat door. A few minutes later it was back. I chased it and a half hour later it was back. I finally found the slide in board for the door so it didn't come back.
I had found the garbage dumped but the chicken bones were still there. The cat did seem to be eating a lot the week before

I had a friend who had a pet skunk. One morning her husband came downstairs, said good morning to the skunk, who was sitting in his recliner, went into the kitchen for coffee, and noticed the skunk was in the kitchen eating breakfast
