I'm so nervous about all this. I don't want to start over on another site and I definitely don't do good with change.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I lost a lot of good friends that update too. Even though I don't post, I have always popped online from time to time, no matter what. Just for those that have stuck around.


Then again, this update is not a matter of moving on to the "new shiny stuff" like the other update was. The host server company doing away with the old platform is actually a valid reason to find a new place.

I don’t really know if I like the change or not to be honest, but I do know that im crossing my fingers that the colours will stay the same, ya know, and not the browns like BYH.

I feel like im doomed, I can barely work BYH out, and now BYC is changing to that platform?

Yes, this! The colors are the most important part. Gray on white with blue borders has been BYC's site colors. Anything could be changed but that. Browsing simply wouldn't be the same without it. It would be like living in a stranger's house without anything familiar.

I have a metered internet connection. I have a Golden Feather Membership to support BYC and so I don't have to see video ads that run up my usage. Will this perk be the same on the new format? I can't join BYH or Easy Garden because I don't want to learn (slow learner here) and run up usage so will have "to wait it out".

It has some similar things on BYH so I would think that the new BYC would too

Will we get an email with the new website link?

just pull up BYC it will either be in read-only or will redirect you to the new site

Okay, I just want to clarify a few things about what I posted! My eyes are bad so sorry if I miss spelled things that made it confusing (I am getting glasses just waiting to hear back from the eye-Dr)...

Ok, I just joined BYHerds and created an intro, but I must admit I am really nervous as technology is not "my thing".  So, I hope that once the new platform is up and running I will be able to figure it out!!

Will I need to remember what my BYC password is?

I cannot imagine belonging to Facebook ever being a requirement for belonging to BYC-heard someone mention that a ways back. If it was, I would be leaving myself. I loathe Facebook, absolutely loathe it. It creeps me out daily. I'm about to delete my account again after what they just did to me, but that's for another time.

One thing I love about the XF software is that we can edit our PM's (called conversations over there) after we sent them! So, for people like me who often spot an embarrassing typo or missed word after hitting sent, it's great, you can go in and edit your message quickly. Long PM conversations also get divided, like the threads here, into pages, so if you have a long natter with someone, or a group, you don't have to scroll to death to get to the new messages, you go straight to them.
