but...Something else I have found quite helpful to do. Every time you post on a thread, you are subscribing to it. And it notifies you not only on your profile but by Email. And this drives me batty!! I mean for those that welcome newbies in and post to 12 different newbies threads, this adds up to WAY too many emails coming in every time someone posts on each of these threads!!
So at the top right of every thread there is a tab, watch or unwatch thread....
You will want to click on this a couple of times, a window will pop up and there are options to alert you only on your profile or by email. I turn off the email alerts because they can become overwhelming.
I noticed the same thing! Is there anyway to make sure you don't receive emails permanently or without manually making it so? I tend to forget to 'unwatch' threads.......
Wow, you all have your work cut out for you! Moving all the content on this site must be a huge task! I'm excited about the new features we will have. I have some questions though.
On the BYH site the home page is the forum page (if that makes sense!) and they don't have a home page with a live postings stream like we have here. So my question is: will the new site have a home page like we have here?
Also, will we be able to tag people on the new site? One last question, will the new site be blue and white?

I think we are trying to stick with a similar look with the blue background and style at the top of our page like the current BYC. Rob is trying to keep it as similar as possible.

Yes, I turn off all email notifications in my profile, and forgot to do it when I signed on to BYH. A whole page of email notifications just from granny's thread!!

Found it! Thank you! It was just what I was looking for, giving you the option to stop getting emails but still watch threads or you can stop it from watching automatically when you reply.
Better change it now to something you can live with for a while till we get it figured out.
