Miss P I was going to do a roo but can do a hen so go ahead and do the roo. The patterns I got are pretty quick and simple and it doesn't matter to me at all.


I am doing a block by Margaret Rolfe it is in her book Patchwork Quilts to make for children. There is a quilt in there that is a whole farm quilt and is out of this world my sister did it for my son when he was young. So I stole her book and am making a chicken out of there they have the hen the rooster and the chicks. My sister says they are easy and I will brain her with her own book if they aren't.


I am really excited about this swap heck I am excited about all of these swaps LOL. I have to sweep and scrub and then play with the 5 out of 10 pups I have left (man that playing with the pups is such hard work). Then I am going to dig out my tubs of fabric and start looking to see what will work and what I will have to buy. I will try to find a pic of the patterns in this book if I can't I will try to take a picture of them.

Amy I am so happy for you and DH about your "Buying the Farm" I am sure that it will be an awesome adventure for all involved. I sure wish I could come across something like that for myself.

I am still looking though, did you get the package I sent you yet? I threw a little something extra in there for you. I know Skand and 1Much got theirs yestereday.

Well, the EASY part on my first real one is done..the cutting it out part, lol!!! Now I have to figure out how NOT to ruin it by sewing it together!!!! "Google is my friend" for applique techniques, lol!!! Wish me luck, and hope it's this cute after I sew it!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, found this magic stuff called "stitch witchery", fusible interfacing...very cool!!! Then I can embroider around the edges, very cool..and easy whooo hooo, so glad I don't have to ruin my cut out pieces!! Guess I will wait until my interfacing comes in before I cut anymore though...means I can work with my yarn today instead
