LOL!!! You all are making a rookie's heart just swell!!!! Thank you for the nice comments!!! I got the other 6 cut out last night, some from cute repro floral feedsack looking fabric ,some from pretty red & gold and some from butterfly print (leeps..might switch your eggbert for that so don't worry) ..now I have to go to Joann's and get some good fusible interfacing...I am learning sooooo much about this sewing thing here!!! There IS such a difference in the interfacing..there are some types that aren't worth a flip for sticking and another one that is more scratchy to work with but sticks really well..going to look for that one, lol! Need to find a neutral background fabric to sew them too also, thinking something offwhite with a sort of same color bit of design...a good excuse to spend my friday lunch at Joann's I guess!! So I actually do think I will get these done on time and then some Amy! I think a rooster could be done the same two piece way by making his body way more upright and giving him more comb and some wattles...just a hint MP incase you are looking at a hundred peices a piece like I was for your roo.

When I get them all together with the interfacing, I can photo all of them and mark your names on them for Amy if you want... there are some that are twice but most are just one of a kind...fat quarters only go so far, lol!..plus you can see they are all wrinkly from not ironing after I washed them so they will be much smoother when ironed

Well... I have changed my pattern for the 3rd time! I was initially going to do a pieced pattern and after some thought, I decided it would be better if I did a more detailed block for everyone so I chose this pattern (the hen on the egg) - http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/quiltcompany_2032_20086189 . After burning the heck out of my fingers with the iron trying to turn under all of the edges, I've decided to change patterns again and go with something a bit more simple!

I just placed my order for this pattern (I will be doing the hen) - http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/quiltcompany_2040_5238384 . This one looks like it will be MUCH easier to turn the edges under on and hopefully my fingers will be saved!

Thanks Amy! I hope it ends up cute. I have some modification ideas in mind, so the picture doesn't show exactly what it is going to look like.

I think it will be much easier than the one I was trying to do and much less frustrating!
