This weekend, my little 3 year old Roborovskii Dwarf hasmter passed away, Pip.
1 1/2 ago, I brought 2 little dwarf hamsters from the animal shelter... They became Squeak and Pip.
Squeaky died a few months back, and boy was he a sweet heart. LOVED to sit in your hand/on his back in your hand and loved any hamster he met. Pip, was his brother. Pip was more timid and far less friendly. I gained his trust over the months, when suddenly, he woke up one day.... and Squeaky wasn't there. This made him fear me even more. As he got older and more fragile, he let me hold him and clean his eyes/ears/fur. Even falling asleep in my lap. For the past month, i've let him run around with my other 3 hamsters, to let him be around his own kind again. This, he enjoyed. I feel glad to know in his last days he was doing what he loved.
I love you Pippy, and already miss you little guy. Without you and Squeak, I wouldn't of gotten the dozens of laughs and smiles out of myself, friends and family. And you have let me share your lives with other people, bringing a smile to their faces. They'll never be another hamster like you.
