I'm in VISTA, north San Diego County near Camp Pendleton.

If anyone in the area is interested in trading or selling/buying, let me know.

Currently, I'm looking for quail. I hope to have muscovy ducklings in a few months and may have a lavender guinne to trade/sell...just not as into it as I thought/hoped I might be. Also have a pilgrim goose that may need to go, too...'covy drakes are really not happy with him and I had to pen 2 to keep them from ganging up on him

Hello from friendly Rocklin, CA.

My name is Bobbi and I am patiently waiting for my girls to give me some eggs smile I have 6; 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Rhode Island Reds and 2 black lace. They are only 3 months old and very entertaining. Their favorite treat is a tomato worm and cackle and fight over it until it is completely gone. I built them a 4' X 4' secure coop with an 8' X 4' secure enclosed run and let them out for free range time a few hours a day. Soon they got a taste for my garden and deck plants so yesterday I added a 70' X 14' fenced area. I am so happy to give them free range sans my plants! They are pretty much out all day. There is plenty of shade, they can get to their waters and feeder. Last night they went to bed like clockwork when the sun went down.

I love the BYC Forum and I am looking forward to hearing more stories.

Where about in Riverside? I lived close to Tyler Mall, a block away from the bowling alley, and close to the little amusment park. There used to be a large area of land that was owned by the Riverside College and leased to a sheep rancher. I lived on the other side of that. And do I know Yucaipa!!! I young man saved my life there when I was 12. I was hit by a car driven by an 85 year old lady whom snuck the keys to her old Mercury. She was driving very slow because she couldn't see. Didn't know she hit me. Impaled my side with the Mercury figurehead, then I slipped down in front of the tires, on my stomach, my arms above my head. Because it was over a hundred degrees, and because she was driving slow, and BECAUSE I was trying to push myself off the nasty asphalt, she dragged me in front of the tires for a little over 50 feet. The young man working at the gas station saw what was happening, ran to her car, got the door open. She thought she was being attacked and was screaming, hitting him. He pushed her out of the way, applied the brakes and wisely grabbed the keys. When he tried to explain to her what happened, she got out of the car and tried to pull me off the ground saying I was all right. Massive road burns on my arms, legs and stomach, broke a small part of my hip bone, but somehow the figurehead missed everything important.

Aside from that, I love Yucaipa. It has grown like crazy!
