Try it out. For what it costs you don't have much to lose. If you were a good rubber glove
with the bumpy things on it and scald the bird well then I don't think it will save you
any time or work.
Any of these pluckers don't produce a spotless bird like a Whizbang or proffesional
plucker does.

This is a duplicate reply as there are a few active plucker threads right now
My large plucker:
4" Drain(not schedule 40) PVC using a 5/8 threaded rod for the center because
it couples easy with my variable speed buffer. This same design can be used
with 3/8" rod so it fits in a standard drill.
My drill type plucker:
Works ok. 4" Drain PVC Cap with a 3/8" threaded rod.
I plan to build an enclosure around my larger plucker & shorten the length on the
bungees.
Kstaven responded to one of my other posts saying:
Check this link out PC. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=294753 The fingers for this one would suit what you are doing. I have one of the pluckers advertised in the link on my drill press and they work quite well. A bigger drum like you have is along the lines of what I had in mind to build.
That one looks similiar to the Cabellas version. If Kstaven says it works then I believe
him. He's at least 100 times more experienced than me at this. I just assumed the
small fingers wouldn't be that good for chickens. You know what they say about
"assuming".
