Hi, I am thinking about adding some new blood to my flock and thought Cackle might be a good place since my feedstore is ordering from them. Do they have good parent stock? Are they pure? And lastly are they any good for showing? I need some SQ and HQ so it doesn't matter too much. Thanks!

We ordered buffs from Cackle last year, they are nice, but I don't know anything at all about SQ. Nice, good sized friendly layers though.
I'm half asleep posting this, but I think these are the ones we got from Cackle Hatchery. We don't show, but have been very happy wit them. Gentle and great layers. Never had any of the evil silkies, so I'm no help there. These pictures are taken at somewhere around 6 months old.

Hi, I got silkies from Cackle last yr and it was a big order because I ordered japanese for my daughter also. I think there was 30 chicks and 2 were dead on arrival and one of the japanese died within a couple of days but that was it. I liked the silkies, they had good foot feathering and good toes and coloring. Not show quality by any means but still alot better than ideal and they have been very healthy.
I did downsize though and only have 3 hens left out of that order.
