Cackle hatchery Dominiques look suspiciously like Barred Rocks

I placed a special order with Cackle hatchery through Scotts Valley Feed Store in Scotts Valley, CA.
Never again.
Dominiques do not have even barring nor single combs. All were too dark and even; and some had single combs.

They have single combs instead of rose combs, and the barring is both too close to black and white, and is too regular.

obviously a picture would make it better to decide and I think that why you have not had many replied as there is nothing to go on

but as you claim they are straight comb then YES straight comb is BPR

Did you contact the hatchery? There could have been a mistake by them or the feed store.

I will contact Cackle. Of four chicks, two had blade combs and one was a rooster. From what others have said about Cackle, I suspect there may have been a confusion at the feed store.

I kept one of the Cackle pullets, the little cockerel, and three pullets ordered from Ideal at the same time. I love Dominiques.

I like cackle.... I've got a lot of show quality birds from there. I suspect ur problem came from the feed store.
