Cackle hatchery's Hatchery Surprise- Anybody got this before?

Lol well if its not its alien turkey that must had been dropped as an egg! Lol if I saw you on the news I would be like "oh I know her!!" Lol I know chicken hording is on the rise. But this is my second box its like buying a scratch ticket!!!
we'll the pigs we have butchered, goats are for milk, sheep for breeding (have you seen the price of lamb!) cow is just my pet till I get her bred. Horses were rescues , and the Bantys shouldn't count cause they are so bitty. Chickens and ducks are for my amusement. And I breed miniature Australian shepherds.... And I think the cats own us. The hubby thankfully supports us all.

Ok I got my cackle hatchery surprise box and I see why its 16 pounds!!! 6 ducks!!! 55 chicks and what I thought was 2 turkeys. Now the black turkey was obviously a turkey but the yellow one was misshapen. Big eyes this thing has I thought it must be a red burb turkey because we have royal palms and white turkeys so what the heck is this thing it didnt have a turkey nub it had a split and we were really curious what kind of turkey it was. So when we took it down to the other turkeys every thing about this "turkey" was wrong so I pulled out my catalog and looked at every bird and then I found it. Its a peacock!

I'm ordering surprises for the end of May now. I want pea fowl!

My new surprise ships tomorrow! Woohoo. Hopefully they have some buff bantams. My buff Cochin and buff silkie decided to drown themselves in the goats water. So we had to rig up the goats water with a chicken escape latter.

We ordered the Hatchery Surprise a couple of evenings ago. Our ship date is June 4th according to the invoice, so should get them on Friday. Based on the recommendations of others on this pose, I called Cackle and asked about the likelihood of getting a couple of geese. The saleslady said it's hatchery choice, so whatever is left over can go in the shipment, but she added a note to request a couple if available. So, we'll see. I will keep ya'll updated and will take pics when I get them.

I wanted to get this this year so bad...but I'm super broke.

It seems like a great deal, and it really is. HOWEVER... between the ducks and 50 chickens (and a pair of geese from a different order), I was going through at least a bag of feed a week. That's bananas. Feed is crazy expensive around here. Then, two days before processing day for the ducks and a bunch of the chickens, a dog killed 26 chickens, both ducks and the geese. All that money gone... ufdah! (dog owner paid replacement cost for the birds, so it's not all bad but certainly disappointing)

How much is feed by you? I pay 15 dollars for 50 pounds. In Northern NY.

My 43 and 3 ducks went through about a bg every week and a half. My current adults go through 160 pounds every other week, which is 36 dollars for 80 pounds of corn and 80 pounds of layermash.
So I'm not too excited in how much it is going to be when the surprise are all adults.

I was able to buy 17 chicks this season and make one order of turkeys and anything else I have to hatch myself. I want the hatchery surprise so badly though. It is a lot of feed for a lot of birds but around here I only have to make it until they are feathered and then they pretty well feed themselves until the cold returns. But I sell most of my birds each year before the cold weather comes in.
