Cadled before Lockdown was already pipped HELP HELP

Some hens will. Most will steal eggs from the other hens to sit on and some would march around clucking until you get tired of them and give them some eggs. LOL If you give a broody a golf ball she'll sit on it too. Some members here who don't have roosters to fertilise the eggs, give their broodies fake eggs to sit on for 3 weeks and then replace then with chicks.
So if they go broody you can't stop it? Also when do they normally go broody, at what age and do they do it all year or in the spring?

You can "break" broodiness by putting the hen, with some food and water, in a wire bottom cage. She'll be unable to maintain her higher body temperature and stop being broody after 3-7 days. Hens can go broody any time after they start to lay. And, unfortunately any time of the year too. I've had hens going broody as soon as they laid their first few eggs and one that waited until she was 5 years old already.

OK thanks I don't know if I can keep them in a cage all day one morning my husband thought since I was off I would let the chickens out I normally get up with him on my days off so if I stay in bed I am tired I slept way in and they did not come out till 9 am I felt really bad so I doubt I'd be able to do it but it would really suck if my only hen laying went broody lol I bought 1 hen 2 weeks ago and she was laying but not fertile now she is not is there a lapse in egg laying when they are introduced to a rooster I guess I'm asking does the fertile egg need more time to get fertile our other laying hen stopped shortly after we got her but we were feeding her wrong so now they are all getting laying food and oyster shell so I can't think of a reason for her to stop unless it is new home
