Dimitri (left) Solomon Island Eclectus 385grams and Lucia (pronounced loosha) Northern Mealy Amazon 700grams (very rare species from Guatemala (not to be confused with the sourthern mealy... she is a rescue: was very sick being smuggled in a beer box with her dead brothers and sisters to the States and it was questionable if she was going to make it- she is now very healthy and an aggressive cuddler!). Our only qualm is her morning and night screams/singing and talking, which tops out as some of the loudest off parrot species (131 decibels- so louder than a macaw).

Edit: My birds are not caged, they reside in the modern large open floorplan, or in their aviary- or with me outside. They sleep wherever they choose (they have their favorite spots) and the only place off limits is the bedroom and utility room (for safety reasons as utility room has icky stuff, and the bedroom has cat food and Dimitri is a food-monger-thief).

Lucia, Northern Mealy Amazon:
“But Moooom, this wooden price tag is so tasty! Can’t I just play with it? Pleeeease? I swear I’ll love it forever!”

I thought this was relevant as many people don't know: Northern mealy's have monster feet and are ambidextrous (most parrots are left handed). While they are one of the largest species of amazons- their feet sets them apart as they are larger than birds twice their size. Absolutely ridiculous looking, haha!

Oscar also liked to play peek-a-boo behind his favorite toy: a simple rope knot.

Peekaboo has consistently been a favorite among every bird I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. There’s something about it—they seem to see it as a delightful little game, almost like they enjoy being just the tiniest bit startled.

Dimitri for example- will turn his head away, and yell 'peekaboo!' if I am doing anything remotely not involving him (like a video conference call- while I am presenting). Kudos to bombing a meeting!

Lucia absolutely lives for her dramatic “pretend shower” sessions in the water dish (she’s a bit of a character). She gets actual access to the shower, and also has a hangin bath in the aviary.

When she first came to me, she wouldn’t let anyone near her—not even a single drop of water or a finger. Even now, she’s still a little wary of the real water thing. Normally just sits on the shower perch and steam baths.

But somehow, “dancing and singing in the rain” (actually singing the song as she just splashes around drops of water) has become her favorite make-believe activity. Here she is today—caught in the act with some action shots!
Beautiful! Can you split this into two posts? We need one entry/picture per post.
