Calcite vs. Oyster shell

I am wondering which is best, calcite or oyster shell, and why?

I've tried both, and my chickens actually liked oyster she'll better ( they ate more of it) and it was cheaper at my C-A-L Ranch.

Offered free choice, I prefer Oyster shell. The hens seem to know what they need and will self regulate the intake. I see Calcite in some layer feed, and that is supposed to be a complete ration. I always just offer the Oyster shell free choice, along with layer feed. Right or Wrong? Depends on your management style, both can and will do the job, most folks seem to favor the Oyster shell, as a free choice supplement.
