Calcium for Egg Bound Hen

I have bantams and it is difficult working with them. I did give my tiny OEGB hen some Liquid cal glu and she took it well she wasn't egg bound but was laying soft shells. Cleared it up.
That's good to hear. I think this is the only downside to bantams. They're just so small and not much to work with. I almost wish I could inject this calcium to bypass her crop, but I will just give it by mouth. I have syringes and needles thinking it was a good idea but it won't hurt to have them around. At least it's easier to draw up the dose. Thanks again

I do wonder why she's not in the typical egg bound stance and not really pushing. She's always been one that paces around sounding like she's crying before laying. Almost like she just let's her body do the effort without much thought or intentional effort, but she's going on 4. Actually she just turned 4.

Do you have any lube safe for animals. I was able to get some from my vet
Wasn’t for egg bound but it may help to slide that egg out
I wonder now if she has poo blocking as well as the egg and maybe she is not able to push and it’s to dry inside ?
I believe I have some type of lube in my first aid kit. It's for humans but it might be safe for animals. I'll have to check. I've been applying coconut oil around her vent and during the couple of internal exams, I try to make sure it's thick so some is left behind. Since the egg is right inside the vent, I'm unable to get the oil very far. I thought about trying to put some olive oil in the vent, but I didn't think it'd get very far. Thank you for the suggestion. I'll look for some lube in my first aid kit.

Im
Not sure if it would work but could you put some in a syringe and push it in further that way ?
Getting a finger in maybe to hard but a syringe would push it inside without having to put the syringe In
If that makes sense
I don’t know if I’m saying it correctly but I can vision it working in my head

Anyone have any idea on an approximate amount of time to leave my hen alone after giving the calcium gluconate? One to three hours? I know there's not a specific time frame because each bird is different, but I'm just curious if this seems like a reasonable time frame? She acts like she's sore, probably from being messed with so much, but I don't want to give her anything that could cause the contractions to slow. Plus I have to keep in mind that whatever I administer by mouth will be sitting in her crop. Thank you so much 💜
