[All of the below summed up - I'm looking for vacation pictures to live vicariously through everyone!]

I'm not exactly certain what about this year is different than years past, but I was so glad when the final gift was unwrapped, and the toys were all put away. I've been staring at my Christmas Tree with absolute contempt - ready to take it down, put it away and clean up any evidence of the holidays. I must admit, I've been quite the silent Scrooge this holiday season - well, not so silent now. And you know, there really hasn't been any specific reason. 2009 was fairly unmemorable - save for a few special deliveries (my nephew and my first hatch). I'm approaching 2010 feeling... tired and worn out. I envision myself looking something akin to one of those close-ups of that silly Spongebob Squarepants character or maybe Ren & Stimpy (if you go that far back) - you know, the one where it's kind of scary looking with everything negatively enhanced? I just don't feel like I'm ending 2009 very gracefully.

Now if I haven't managed to depress everyone out of their minds...

In an attempt to get out of my winter-time blues, and frumpy post-holiday pity-fests, I have been focusing hard on an upcoming family vacation. In April, on Easter Sunday, our family is going on our first cruise. Lately at work, it's been everything I can do to avoid slipping into some delirious excitement daydreaming about lounging with some fruity tropical concoction brought to me by by the cabana boy (ahem, man) just basking in the warm sunshine. Only later to find myself snorkeling in pristine caribbean waters, and finishing by gorging myself with delicious foods. Oh and yes... in my daydream of this trip, it's "Calorie Amnesty Week".

Who knows, maybe all of that will come true...the trip is paid for and I'm 13 weeks from packing my bags (I've got the countdown to the minute on one of my screensavers - it's that bad) but then again, on my last family vacation to Jamaica, we spent the week suffering in complete boredom as Hurricane Wilma rained on our parade.

So if you're still with me, I am hoping you'll be willing to help me out of this funk... if anyone has a picture from a vacation past - a really fun or beautiful picture... would you mind putting it in this thread? If anything, I think it'll cheer me up just living vicariously.

Ooh! That's true! I didn't consider all of "my shows" that are coming back on TV after the long holiday hiatus. I'm looking forward to watching the last season of Lost and a few other shows.
