Calibrating hygrometer

The mixture doesn't have to be exact. I've used various amounts and it comes out the same. Just try to make wet salt. Not saltwater and not dry salt with sprinkles of water. You want all the salt wet but not floating in water. Irregardless of what amount you use exactly it will work.

Will salt from out water softner work the same as regular table salt? Does it really matter the type just as long as it's salt?
