I'm seeing some pictures in the other cochin threads of "Calico" colored birds and I absolutely LOVE them! Don't get me wrong, I love the mille fleurs, but these calicos are just soooo interesting.

I'd love to get a thread started for those with Calico Cochins, wether you just have a few or if you're trying to breed for them.

So lets hear how you're projects are going and how bout you breeders of Calicos help out us newbies with some info on how you're working on them.

Any and all pictures and information about the color are welcome!

There are people with them, but because they're actually a cull of the Mille Fleur, I'd think most owners don't stick around here much or ya just gotta wait. [IMG]

We usually just post them on the Mille Cochin thread, as you may have seen me do recently.

I've seen them but just never really pay attention to who does what.

I'd just like to have a thread just for these guys so we don't have to sift through hundreds of pages to see just a few pictures

Out of nearly 50 MFC chicks hatched this year, I have 2 Calico pullets. I wonder what the Calico roos look like?

I've just bought a pair of cochins and the roo looks like it may be calico-y but he's still young. And the mille fleur color changes so much until they're adults that I have no clue what he's going to look like.

I'll try to get pictures of my guy when they get here. They ship the 26th

I'm picking up 2 1 yr old Calico hens tomorrow as well as a cockerel from a different breeder for them. I'm absolutely thrilled to have found them! This is my first time with cochins so I'm really excited to have them in my program. I have 2 calico kitties too, so I couldn't resist these. I believe the birds I'm getting are F2 and F3's.

Okay so what makes it a calico? Excess white?
