You should just post your question od what you want to discuss... Im new to this breed and color so I wont be of any help but Im sure someone would be happy to answer your questions or address whatever issues you are having if they can.

Thanks, my question is a simple one I think! I bought my Cali's at 5 weeks old...Im beginning to believe they might be bantam instead of regular size...how can I tell? They are 4 months old now and arent very big. The roosters are beginning to crow...so....Im thinking there isnt much "growing" time left....thoughts??

What did the seller tell you about them?
Bantam Cochin should only weigh in around 2 lbs, full grown. Though most pet breeders have ones that are a bit bigger.

My understanding, from this thread and others, is that the calico color is ONLY in bantam cochins (not full sized) at this time.

That's what I thought too, I don't think I have ever seen a large fowl calico cochin...

So, since I have chicken hawks in the area I wont be able to let them out of their cages without being with them I guess!!

That is true.. and even when you are with them sometimes a hawk will be bold enough to swoop down after them. We also have a lot of hawks and ravens so keep ours in runs that are covered with netting.
