Inky's first chick has hatched! Looks like a Wizard baby

LOL I can't believe you got a cutie baby from her and Wizard. You really were excited to set those eggs. Her next set of chicks will be more lovely since they are from your red roo with the nice MF pattern.
Wizard carries MF but he also has produced blue so I use him in other pens now for cool color projects. He gave me some excellent Frizzles in that breeding pen but is now in with a blue, a splash and a silver laced. I hatched a few of those and they are cool!

I am sure this baby will be a beautiful little GIRL!

If for nothing else than to add color to your yard. And eating eggs. And a broody hen.......and love.

Yes, I am very much looking forward to seeing Ruby Rod's chicks, too. I've been setting every egg Inky's given me so far - which has been almost one a day! (I thank her for each one, I think she doesn't want to disappoint me, so she makes sure she keeps 'em coming !

) I lost 4 to incubator issues (Genesis

) but I still should have a few cute little Cochins. Ruby's daughters will be bred back to him. We'll see what we'll do with Wizard's chicks. <-- Let em grow up, first!

They look so happy! And that top photo is a fabulous shot but I like the others, too.

He is one super nice roo, I hated letting him go but I can't keep them all.
And Inky is a beautiful, typy lady and I think fits him so very well! Your plan sounds great on breeding his daughters back to him.
I can't believe Inky has been so good to you with those eggs! Some hens are not always beautiful and productive. She is really wanting to prove herself to you! I don;t think she was laying every day here but I think she loves living at your place. You obviously treat them very well. They look magnificent!

Hi everyone. I've been taking a little hiatus from BYC but, wanted to stop in and say

First off... Lynne. I about fell off my chair when I saw pics of Clara. Sooooo beautiful. Cannot wait to see pics of her babies.

Twyla, your chick pics are gorgeous. The babies are really light though. I think adding a darker roo, like you mentioned, will really spark some neat color.

JosieChick, I was scrolling down and saw pics of your birds and scratched my head thinking.. .man, they look like they could be related to mine.. .duh ahhahahahahaha beautiful.

I will try and get some better pics as soon as I get a good camera. My nikon was stolen out of my truck about 2 months ago and I've been helpless without it

Here's a hen Im using in my MFC pen. I guess she's calico ... I get a few really light ones in every batch. I'll try and get some of the growouts. Happy hatching everyone!!
