Supposed to be a California Gray... Although I haven't seen any photos (including ones of roos that have poofy head feathers like this one).
11 weeks old
Bought locally @ feed store; chicks source was Ideal Poultry.
I only got one of this variety so I don't have another to compare with.
This breed is not supposed to have slate legs and my chicken does.
I'm also including photos of this one as a chick, because apparently they are easy to sex at hatch.
Questions:
Do you think it's a hen or roo?
Do you think it's a California Gray?... If not, what is it?
Thank you!

Not a California Grey or a Legbar.
Legbar mix. Maybe Legbar/cuckoo Maran (olive egger)

Not a California Gray, it is a Legbar, and I am not too sure on this one. If I comoared it to my Legbars, which are a different variation, who are around the same age, I would say yours is a cockerel.
Oh, yes!...I see the legbar now. I didn't know legbars would be barred black and white though. Maybe it is a mix? I do love surprises.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Hopefully I will know for sure in a few more weeks on gender and if it's a hen, I should be able to narrow down the breed by egg color.
