California - Northern

OK, i've discovered that if I'm sitting down with the chicken between my knees, and with great persistence, i CAN manage to get her beak open -- dripped the corid-water in very slowly, and she did swallow, so some is definitely inside her now.  will give her some more before i have to leave for school this morning.

when i first came in she was lying on her side, & i was afraid she'd passed -- but still breathing, so i put her back on her feet and she's back to standing quietly with her eyes closed.  it seems like she might be near her limit, so either the corid will help, or it won't... doubt i'll be able to get the recommended goat wormer quickly enough for it to help, but i'll get it for the rest of the gang.

Hopefully you will see improvement when you get back! We are all pulling for little Amelia!

DH has weak stomach, wouldn't bother me that much since I'ld be the one collecting it and know how it was handled.
It would have to go in an icechest to keep it from freezing here, it's 24° out there now. Yesterdays high was 32°. All right already!

I would trust anything Dawg says - he is extremely knowledgeable.

Ron - Poo in my fridge.

Not exactly what I'm looking for.
Yes, if you have a health problem, Dawg is the best.

I will use an ice chest. I did not make it out there this morning. since I have 24 hours, I will collect tonight and drop off the sample tomorrow. It's across campus from my office.

Help! Jeff hatched one of my eggs. A Buff Orp egg - dad rooster was either Bantam Blue Laced Red Wyandotte or Black Copper Marans. We can not figure out which one it is. It was hatched with other various Marans and Easter Eggers.

We grabbed some likely candidates. But just unsure!

These look like Marans and EEs to me BUT I don't know what my mutt chicken would look like either!

I haven't seen marans but the first chick sure looks like my BLRW's when they hatched out.

I had two with that coloration, they are nice blues not goldens.

My marans/orphingtons had no brown on them at birth, they had more white. I'm guessing blrw bantam.

Hope everyone is doing we'll, I have a mild stomach bug and am crabby.

That would be awesome! I think I will mark this little one as such and keep my on it. Thanks for playing! We agonized over combs and feet and everything lol!

Does anyone have a Genesis Hova Bator they are selling off? I would really like to try hatching soon. I figured used would save me a little money. :D They are almost $200 shipped. EEK!
