Cochins, silkies, Seramas, Bramahs and Marans have feathered feet. Probably others and mutts too.

Seramas are clean legged.

This pullet is starting to look like she has bushy black eyebrows! :-D She is feathering out nicely too. Thanks Chiqita!

I think she looks like when people push their sunglasses back on their forehead. Not a look I'm fond of, but it works for her!


Well, I'm back from the show, it was a LONG day (had to get up at 4:30am), but it was a great show and I enjoyed the meet. Everyone that hit me up to buy a bird, it was a bird I was unwilling to part with and I only came home with 6 extra birds today, LOL (Where were you all to stop me?).

I'm heading to bed so I can go back tomorrow and pick everyone up.

My husband and I saw two big horse trailers pulled off the freeway and two guys in wrangers and boots exchanging roosters!

We had to wonder why they had stock trailers to move two roos!

If anyone sees a nice Black or Blue Copper Marans roo with dark egg history, please, please, please contact me! I really NEED one! PM me if you're willing to look for me and I'll give you my phone to text me with prospects. I have to work and can't make the show. Thanks Ron. I know Debbie, she actually hatched my first breeding stock Polish (for a friend of hers) and Sunny got some chickens from her. I recommended her to Amy Beth, she has beautiful Marans...took a lot of will power not to take one home when I picked up my Polish! I was going to get a BCM roo from Sunny, that she's been growing out from nice dark eggs but something went wrong and looks like that's not going to happen right away so I wanted to put the word out in case anyone was dazzled and amazed by one at the show but wasn't looking for one personally. Plus, I still have a credit with Jeff and I'm hoping he'll have a nice one or something else of equal value that I can't resist....like something that lays blue something or other....

Check out what my friend gave me for a gift. It's a coin purse. Her husband said it was a dumb present and I wouldn't like it. Little does he know - I love it!

Well, I missed most of you at the show today. Couldn't find Maureen- wanted to buy her awesome honey. Some of you didn't recognize me, when I said hi. I was so glad to see Debi come up and say hello, but I was involved in a discussion with the only Dorking exhibitor I've ever seen at a show. Sorry, Debi, I truly wanted to chat!

Lots of awesome birds. Saw some turkeys that I wished that I could have taken home. My DH was so bored. I kept trying to get him interested. Finally- the Polish caught his eye. He took his time looking and trying to touch each one. I asked him why he liked them. He said that they reminded him of the Beatles in their early days.

I am surprised at how many men love the Polish! Must be the big hair.

Sounds like everyone had a busy show. Can't wait to see pictures from everyone! I hope you all didn't forget you had cameras!

I had such an amazing time at the show yesterday in awe of all the birds! I had no idea something so perfect could be SO BIG, and at the other end of the spectrum, so small! This was my first time seeing something other than hatchery since I have owned chickens myself. How much do those big guys weigh? They looked the size of my 5 year old! I wanted one of everything but came home with nothing. I spent almost three hours at the show and I could have spent twice that! I think next time I will come without the husband and kids in tow. I only ran into one BYC member the whole time! (Nice to meet you wishing4wings!) All in all, I'm so glad I was able to come and see what you guys are producing in person, photos really don't do it justice! I am sooooo lucky to be a part of this community!

I know exactly how you feel. While watching these BLRW grow up I was full of questions about how big to build the housing. They just keep getting bigger and bigger At 8 months they are so much bigger then my hatchery birds and still have alot of growing to do.
