California - Northern

Hi,
I saw the pictures of your beutiful bantam cochins. Do you have any eggs from your calico cochins (pictured in your profile picture)? We are in Minnesota, so would need them shipped with a warm pack. We are looking for 12-24 eggs.
Thanks,
Josh & Maria

It's great to have you here!

I hope you get the Cochin eggs you want!

Pens are finally finished! Now I just need to backfill the dirt & cobbles on top of the wire surrounding the outside edge, and put sand inside each pen.
Looks awesome! I would love to have that...

Tilled the garden today. The chickens were going crazy over all the worms etc. We're getting ready for spring:) DH bought me a rototiller for a early Valentines day present. LOL, so far a presents over the last few years... I've gotten a lawn mower, a leaf blower, weadeater, and shop vac. I love getting useful gifts that make my chores easier. Who needs cut flowers, jewelry and chocolate

I've gotten a Mantis tiller, small air compresser with stapler, and a wheelbarrow. The guys at the store were really getting on his case for the wheelbarrow. Didn't think I would use the co presser but it is great for tacking welded wire in place untill I can get the big staples in.

Whan talking with the vet last week she said she uses wood chips in her runs. She gets them for free from Trees Inc. She was saying that they keep her runs dry and it has nearly eliminated the intestional worm problems since there is no soil. Has anyone tried wood chips?

Good morning, All! We are going to be working on sound proofing our smaller outdoor pen in an effort to keep our Bresse cockerel here in town. He is quite the crower already and loves to greet the morning at 7 AM. He doesn't crow much during the rest of the day so if we can take care of that first hour of the morning, we might be okay!
