5 eggs today out of 8 girls not bad! The tiny one is I'm guessing my buff orps first egg :)

Hi all! I was a lurker until recently and just found this awesome thread. I wanted to share the eggs I got from my newly adopted hens - I got 5 girls Sunday and they have given me ~4 eggs every day since! The pic shows one from each girl.
And I've got chicken fever bad!!!

Hi Threadgeek and welcome. Such pretty eggs and laying so soon for you they must be quite happy.

Man, I mean I only JUST got my first three chickens and now you all have me thinking about hatching out eggs! At least the good thing is I already had plans to build an incubator. I also keep and breed reptiles as a hobby/side business, you'd be surprised at just how much overlap there is in equipment. Heck the only things I needed to buy for my chick brooder was the chick food and the food and water containers, I already had everything else. Oh speaking of chicks, I finally got photobucket wrestled into some form of submission, so here are pictures of my first three girls; Patty, Maxine, and LaVerne. 10 points if you get the reference.

Patty (please forgive the heart, she left me a "present" on the table)

Holy Moly,

I go away for 4 days and come back to 331 new posts in the forum. You guys have been busy. I will likely skim forum (mostly for pictures LOL ), but doubt I can read them all. I hope everyone, and their flocks are doing well!!!

I came home in time to see my bators popping. I have lots of eggs hatching right now. Some of the eggs include eggs I picked up at the show from Papa Brooder, Chooklat and Debsflock. Thanks guys!! I have not opened bator yet, so not sure which eggs have hatched. The wait is killing me.

Welcome back, Deann! I hope your trip was fabulous, filled with fun. How exciting that your babies are hatching, awwwww!!
Please find below photos of your baby Orpingtons at the age of 20 days old, and they weigh, 17 to 19 oz., each. They are trying to fly, but are not able to lift themselves up more than and inch or so. Just too cute!!! and am enjoying each and every day.

welcome. The fever just gets worse. Talk to Ron about the cure. wait nevermind. Bad idea you may be hatching 50 eggs a week in no time.
