I don't think anyone is saying to not be catious, I never take my eye off of this roo and I know what we do that makes him feel threatended or the need to be protective. Personally, I don't think that if a roo attacks one time that they need to go directly to freezer camp. Our roo is an incredible flock protector and makes really nice babies and gentle Roos.....however, if he went after one of my grandkids, he may not get more then one more chance!
I work as a Mail Lady in Del Paso Heights. There are tons of dogs, and just a few roosters in the area I deliver to. I have never been bitten by a dog, but about a month ago got attacked by a rooster. A lady had him in her front yard, I tossed him a couple crackers I had in the truck, and went to her door and delivered her mail, and he just watched me. As soon as I got close to her gate to leave he came after me. It was crazy, he stabbed be in the leg with his spur. I was bleeding and everything. No more treats for him!!
