Ok guy, I live in Salinas and grew up in Carmel. We consider this area Central Coast! So I agree with who ever said you got to divide CA in 3 sections or maybe 4 ( Coastal). Northern CA, Central CA ( includes Coastal CA) and Southern Cal. I would consider Bay Area as Central Coast ( as do many news casters)

So, with regard to the dividing line for North and South Wiki Answers says this:

Q:Where is the dividing line that separates Northern California from Southern California?

A:There's no actual dividing line between Northern and Southern California, but the Central Coast area (Santa Cruz, Monterey, Santa Maria) would be what most Californians would consider the dividing line.

I am a native Californian and that is exactly where I have always drawn the line in my mind. I consider the Northern half of the state to extend all the way down to Santa Cruz. I would consider, Redding, Lassen, Eureka, Shasta, Crescent City to be the upper part of Northern California.
Such a gorgeous part of the state. I could so totally live up there.

Hi Everyone!

I had no idea that there were this many chicken fans in Ca. I live near Sacramento and just started hatching chickens! I have 4 three week old Black Copper Marans. Even though I am the laughing stock of my friends:lau, I love the little things! I am hoping to sell hatching eggs when they finally get going. Is anyone else into raising them organically? I have some more in the incubator. I had to get them from the mid-west. Should hatch out in 2 1/2 weeks!

Look forward to hearing from more of you.

Hey there, how close r u? Did u say Monterey?! If so we should really network for great chickens! Anyhow, I just got some really nice Cuckoo chicks, 2 very nice sp silkie pullets. I want to acquire some BC and wheaton Marans in the near future. I am workin on it, but everything is so far away.
