ahhh wish I could take some blue wheatan ameraucanas but well .. to many breeds now lolHey Zoo, I wish I would have been on here this week. My life is so crazy with getting ready to move that I am running around ragged. Guess where I am moving?! To redding. Anyway, I will have some FBCMs roos for you down the road for share I have hatched them from three different breeders so will have a diverse blood line. I also have some Blue Copper Marans that are growing up nicely. Anyway, are you interested in any more chicks? I am bringing some 1-3 day old chicks up for my neighbor in redding this weekend and have been selling quite a few extras. Anyone else in the sacramento or redding area interested in some chicks?

Clearly I am over run with chickens and have completely lost my mind. Buy some chickens from me and help me pay for all these eggs!!! :-0
Prices on chicks that I have are anywhere from $5-15. All are straight run.
vaccination for Mareks is optional as I have plans to do so tomorrow afternoon on all the chicks that I am keeping. Maybe I'll go take some pictures and post on here to try to entice some buyers to save me from myself!!!![]()
Only problem is now there is another source close and easily available that I can drive over to and fill my incubator with eggs. I have some great looking chicks from her. A few of the ameracaunas look amazing. I'll have to take some pictures! After my next hatch in three weeks, I am not hatching anything else until my chickens start laying. Already, i have to start selling off the breeds I've decided not to keep. I just spend time in the pens up in redding and see which chickens i enjoy the most, which ones respond well to my kids. it's kind of fun, but i'm hoping i can off load the ones i just can't keep! i
Quote: Well then I guess we are neighbors. we are in between old oregon and stillwater on old 44. so, we must be in the same area. Oh, i will always have chicks. i've have a problem...clearly a hatch-a-holic!! Orps that I will ultimately have in the next six months: jubilees, gold laced, lavender, BBS, Lemon cuckoo, and chocolate. As you can see I love them as well. I go back and forth between them and the marans until i discover something cool like the legbars, rhodebars, and basques. My 10 breeding pens are already full and they aren't even finished yet. I have plans for 10 more that will house only 4-8 birds. the first ones I built can hold 10-12 birds. it's only when I start listing out the breeds I currently have that I realize that i have become my own person hatchery. oh boy...

I am saying the same thing. I have one hatch going and will stop after they hatch. I need to get some space and let the Basque and Cream Legbars settle in.
The problem is, Elvirta is just a bit over the river....
My Brother used to live out there. He lost a nice place with a creek on it during the housing crash. He even built the house that he lost. It's a nice area, but should have a lot of predators. Guardian Dogs, electric fences and very secure coops for night.
Have fun over there in the Bella Vista area.

Oh my! haha I just emailed Debi (in RB) about adding on 2 or 3 more Marans and hopefully one of which would be a Roo). I have a ton of different duck breeds and it's fun for sure. I def got a feel for which ones I I like the most...which isn't always how others in my family feel.Well then I guess we are neighbors. we are in between old oregon and stillwater on old 44. so, we must be in the same area. Next year I might venture out of these 2 breeds (Marans and BO) but since we have like 6 diff duck breeds and a pair of geese coming next week- and this is our first year with livestock/farm animals EVER... so much for me to learn about all this. I am so excited!WOW! Have a wonderful time!!Well, Johnny and I are off to Spain!
1. Dogs at the sitters - check
2. Rabbit at the sitters - check
3. Chickens at the sitters - check
4. Head screwed on tight - ehhhh
If I don't get on BYC I hope everyone has a fabulous June! See you in a month!!
What is that they say about good intentions?? I planned on only my three breeds and I don't even want to tell you what I am feeding now. (I actually can't tell you off the top of my head)I think I've found the bright side to losing all of those birds. I went to the feed store yesterday, and the bill for the whole month, for everything on the place, was less than $150. I used to spend more than that biweekly! That includes pigs, ducks and everything, and I won't have half of those by the end of summer. I think when I start up again, I'll keep it smaller.
